Spring into Summer.

November. Ahh, we've finally come to a point in the year where those pink, Hello Kitty flannelette pajamas (err, that's probs just me) can go back into hiding and it's kosher to leave the house in less than four layers (unless you're in Sydney or Melbourne right now - in which case the schizophrenic weather is probably shitting *cough, I mean, moving you to tears). Currently, I'm lounging in a giant wicker chair on Hayman Island, overlooking our gloriously private beach (as you do), silently pondering life. As my sister said earlier, "Emma, you spend a lot of time in fantasy land, don't you?" Err, yep. I think I've spent this entire week dreaming of penthouse suites, huge stadium concerts, starring roles in Broadway musicals and a dreamy French-Riviera wedding with my future James Bond-esque husband (minus the constant near-death experiences and one-night stands with hot Russians). Oh gosh, what is wrong with me?

Moving right along now, as I watch the catamarans sail past, I'm mentally preparing myself to re-enter normal life tomorrow (which really isn't that normal anymore, so I swear I won't complain) to finish writing my album...hurrah, the end is nigh! I've had the most beautiful seven days eating exuberant buffet breakfast's, swimming in the Coral Sea, laughing with my family and recalibrating my immune system. Hayman truly has been nothing short of magical.

Bye for now, as I drift off into an afternoon siesta to accompany this peachy sunset...*sigh

Saturday

Adventure.

I long to be spontaneous. To one day hastily pack an overnight bag with nothing more than a toothbrush, underwear, a few dollars and just run away...I imagine I would enjoy basking in the sun for hours, take dips in a nearby lake every so often, light a small fire each night to cook dinner and float my way through long, dream-filled days worthy of filling up a Hemingway. Perhaps I'd even be okay with sleeping on a rickety 5'8" (I'm 5'11") cot in a small canvas tent...Unlikely, but you never know.

Anyway, seeing the trailers for Wes Anderson's new film 'Moonrise Kingdom' are not helping to deter me from attempting something like the above in the next couple of weeks. Glassy lakes, sun-drenched fields, deserted beaches and glorious sepia-toned scenes of love, laughter and adventure - that's what I want my life to look like.

Sigh.

Tuesday

Lush.

Two things I've discovered about myself over the last few weeks:

1. I am a terrible blogger. Okay, this one I figured out years ago (count five consecutive attempts at well-maintained blogs), but still I persist (despite my complete and utter lack of consistency) because I like to see all the delicious pictures I collect in one spot. I also like a self-indulgent rant from time to time...well, a lot of the time.

2. I actually like colour. Until now I've been a bit of a hater, but I've decided to leave the dark side (har har) and brighten up my wardrobe before the weather warms up. The Prada campaign (above) is candy-coloured PERFECTION.
